Asia is the most populous continent in the world, with 4.68 billion people accounting for nearly 59.5% of the world population as of 2021. Africa is the second largest continent by population, with around 1.37 billion people, or 17.4% of the world's population. Only these two continents have crossed the one billion milestone. Asia and Africa, together share about 77% of the global population.
