With a slew of (then) cutting-edge technologies and sporty bodywork, the 1988 Buick Reatta rode into showrooms on a tidal wave of hype. Essentially a stubbier version of the Buick Riviera, this front-drive, two-seat coupe came with General Motors' bulletproof 3.8-liter V-6 and—initially—a pioneering touchscreen control center à la Knight Rider. The Reatta only lasted until 1991, leaving a short-lived convertible model and touchscreens' hopes and dreams in its wake.
